How does the bungee cushioning work?

The elastic ShockGuard Zone™ in the middle of the lead absorbs sudden jolts before they reach your hand. When your dog bolts or pulls hard, the cushioning soaks up the impact. What reaches your hand isn't a hard yank anymore — it's a gentle stretch.

The result: no painful jolt to your shoulder, arm, or back.

✅ Absorbs sudden jolts instantly
✅ Protects your shoulder, back, and joints
✅ Reflective safety stitching for visibility in the dark

How long is the lead?

The lead stretches from 120 cm up to a maximum of 178 cm. That gives your dog enough room for a relaxed walk — while you stay in full control.

There's also an instant-control grip right by your dog, for tight spots or meeting other dogs.

Does the bungee cushioning wear out over time?

No. The ShockGuard Zone™ is made from a highly elastic material that holds its stretch even after hundreds of walks.

That's the difference from cheap bungee leads that lose their bounce after a few weeks. The Pawdys bungee lead cushions just as well on day 365 as it does on day 1.

Can I use the lead in the car?

Yes. The lead has a built-in car safety clip. Just click it into your car's seatbelt buckle, and your dog is secured on the back seat. The ShockGuard Zone™ also absorbs small movements while driving. No bouncing around, no stress on long journeys.

What if I don't like it?

You get your money back. You can send the lead back within 30 days if you're not happy — no ifs, no buts.

Is the lead suitable for very strong dogs?

Yes. The ShockGuard Zone™ is specifically designed for strong, sudden pulling force. The double-locking safety clip never opens by accident — even under maximum strain. For very large breeds over 40 kg, we also recommend pairing it with the Pawdys Anti-Pull Harness.

How long does delivery take?

We take 1–3 days to carefully prepare your order for you and your dog. From there, your parcel arrives within 4–9 working days, anywhere in the UK. We'll keep you updated by email along the way.

The lead that saved my shoulder

Writing this because I want other dog owners with joint problems to know what's possible. I've had tendinitis in my left shoulder for two years. My doctor told me the strain of walking the dog needed to be reduced. With a normal lead every jerk went straight into my shoulder joint. The BungeeShock cushioning changes that completely: when my GSD suddenly pulls, the lead stretches and absorbs the impact. What reaches my shoulder is a gentle, cushioned tension instead of a hard jerk. That's the difference between painful and pain-free. The neoprene anti-strain grip makes it even better – no hard nylon cutting into your hand. The instant-control handle's really handy in excitable moments – short hand movement, full control. The reflective strips for evening walks are really good. The car safety clip's a nice extra I actually use daily. Five stars for a lead that lets me keep walking daily.

My shoulder thanks me

No more hard jerks. The shock-absorbing zone makes all the difference. 💪

The BungeeShock cushioning genuinely works

I was sceptical whether a stretchy lead really absorbs jerks. First test: my Labrador spots another dog and suddenly pulls. With a normal lead: hard jerk straight into my hand. With this one: the lead stretches, my hand feels a gentle tension instead of a jolt. The principle works exactly as described. The neoprene grip makes long walks really comfortable.

The car clip fits perfectly into my seatbelt slot. Safe car journeys at last. 🚗

Ideal for car journeys

Bought this lead mainly for the car safety clip. Fits any seatbelt slot, dog's securely fastened. The BungeeShock zone cushions small movements while driving – no constant tugging from the back seat. As a bonus it works brilliantly on walks too. The double-locking carabiner gives total peace of mind.

For my dog after my slipped disc – the only option

I had a slipped disc in my cervical spine. After that, normal dog walking was impossible – every pull radiated pain. My husband ordered this lead. The BungeeShock cushioning's brilliant physics: the bungee zone stretches under pull and releases the energy gradually instead of abruptly. What I feel now isn't a jerk anymore but a springing movement. That gives my spine time to adjust instead of a sudden impact. The neoprene grip further protects my wrists. The instant-control handle's really important with our GSD during dog encounters – a quick hold with no pull. The reflective strips are brilliant for my early morning walks. I use the car clip daily – I used to worry he'd jump off the back seat, not anymore. Five stars for a product that's given me back my quality of life.

Grip's so comfortable

Neoprene's still just as good after 45 minutes as at the start. Never going back to nylon. 🙌

As a runner with a dog – this is the standard

I run 5-6 miles daily. With a normal dog-jogging setup every sudden direction change was a problem. The bungee lead absorbs these impacts perfectly. When my Vizsla suddenly wants to turn, the lead stretches and springs back instead of transferring a hard jerk. That protects my shoulder and wrist massively. The instant-control handle's worth its weight in gold while running – another dog on the path: quick hold, past them, keep running. No interruption. The reflective strips are essential for my pre-dawn runs. The anti-strain grip sits comfortably in the hand while running without chafing. The 47-70 inch length's perfect for running – not too short, not too long. Five stars from a runner who demands a lot from her lead daily.

Reflective strips really bright. I'm clearly visible to cars in the dark. 🌙

Good idea – a bit too much give for a small dog

The BungeeShock zone principle's good and the neoprene grip's really comfortable. For our Beagle (26lbs) though the stretch is a bit too much – when he pulls the lead gives so much he sometimes gets further than with a normal lead. Would suit bigger, stronger dogs better. Quality's very good.

Three months in – my honest report

I want to give an honest review after three months. The BungeeShock principle works – that much is certain. Sudden jerks get absorbed. My shoulder doesn't ache after walks anymore after three months. That's the most important effect. The neoprene grip's still just as soft after three months as day one – no wear. I use the instant-control handle daily during encounters. I now use the car clip regularly for shopping trips too – dog's belted in, no more bouncing around. The reflective strips are still firmly attached after three months. Material's very good overall. The double-locking carabiner's never opened accidentally in three months. Verdict: does what it promises. Five stars after three months.

Double lock's brilliant

Carabiner never opens by accident. Gives me real peace of mind. 🔒

Ideal for my arthritic hands

With arthritis in my hands and a pulling dog, walkies used to be agony. The BungeeShock zone absorbs the hard jerks before they reach my joints. The neoprene grip spreads the pressure over a bigger area. Together that's a massive improvement for my hands. I'd recommend it to anyone with joint problems.

The shock-absorber principle is brilliant

Jerks get cushioned. So simple, so effective. 🎯

The lead that does it all – car and walks

I'd searched for ages for a lead I could use for both walks and car journeys without swapping anything. This one's the answer. The car safety clip fits any seatbelt slot – dog's securely belted while driving. The BungeeShock zone cushions small movements while driving. For walks: same lead, swap the carabiner over, off you go. The BungeeShock cushioning absorbs jerks – my shoulder thanks me for it. The instant-control handle's great for everyday critical moments. The double carabiner gives me confidence it'll never come loose by accident. Reflective strips clearly visible for evening walks. This is the one-lead-for-everything I'd been searching for. Five stars.

Lead stretches – jerk gets cushioned – my hand stays intact. Logical and brilliant. 💡

For walks with kid and dog

With a small child in one hand and a pulling dog in the other, walks used to be dangerous. The bungee lead cushions the dog's impact – no hard jerk to throw me off balance. The instant-control handle gives me immediate control in critical moments. Now I walk relaxed with both.

Really good

Stretch works well. Neoprene grip's brilliant. Small deduction as the length's a bit short.

After my shoulder accident – this lead lets me walk again

I had shoulder surgery a year ago. After that, normal dog walking was impossible – every hard jerk radiated straight into the freshly operated shoulder. My physio told me to minimise the shock load on the joint. The BungeeShock lead is exactly that. The bungee section stretches under pull and releases the energy gradually instead of transferring it abruptly to my shoulder joint. What I feel isn't a hard hit anymore but a gentle spring. That's the difference between needing another operation and being outside daily again. The neoprene anti-strain grip further protects my wrist. The instant-control handle's brilliant for quick control without a long reach. The reflective strips are really good for early morning walks. I can walk daily again. That's worth more to me than I can put into words.

Perfect for evening walks

We walk daily after work – often in the dark through autumn and winter. The 360° reflective strips are really visible. I feel so much safer with the dog in the evening. And the BungeeShock cushioning also makes sudden evening encounters less stressful – no hard jerk when another animal suddenly appears.

The car clip's the best feature I've ever seen on a dog lead. 🚗✓

I researched dog forums and Amazon – this one wins

I did thorough research before buying this lead. Amazon reviews of similar bungee leads: most common problem – cheap bungee section loses elasticity quickly. Dog forums (TierForum.de, Facebook groups): a neoprene grip's rare on budget leads. Car clip even rarer. Double-locking carabiner: very rare. This lead combines all four points I'd identified as important. After a month of use: the bungee section's still just as elastic as day one. Neoprene grip still soft. Car clip works perfectly in my Seat. Double carabiner: no accidental opening in a month. Reflective strips really visible. Verdict: the research paid off – this is the best product in this category I've found.

Instant-control handle's worth its weight in gold

During dog encounters: quick hold, past them, keep going. 🐕

Bungee's good, car clip doesn't fit an older car

The BungeeShock cushioning works really well and the neoprene grip's comfortable. Unfortunately the car safety clip doesn't fit my older 2012 VW Golf – the seatbelt slot's too narrow. Not a product failure, but a heads-up for owners of older vehicles. For walks: really good.

As an older woman – this lead makes walking possible again

I'm 69 and my Labrador cross is four and sturdy. The last two years walks have been really hard work – his sudden pulling's nearly knocked me over more than once. I ordered this because of the BungeeShock cushioning. The principle's instantly understandable: the elastic zone stretches when he pulls and cushions the jerk. What reaches my arms isn't a hard movement anymore but a gentle stretch. That's the difference between dangerous and safe for me. The instant-control handle's essential for spontaneous control. The neoprene grip's far more comfortable for my hands than nylon. I use the car clip for shopping trips – dog's belted in, I drive relaxed. The reflective strips are good for my early morning walks. Five stars from a 69-year-old walking daily again.

Highly recommend

For anyone with shoulder problems from walking the dog. Buy it! 💪

The bungee principle is mechanically perfect

I'm an engineer and the principle's physically sound: the bungee zone stores kinetic energy and releases it gradually instead of transferring it abruptly. That significantly reduces the force spike that reaches the wrist. The double carabiner's really solidly built. Quality overall very good.

Christine B.

No more aching shoulders after walkies. That was my goal. Achieved. 💚

Product good – bungee zone a bit softer after 2 months

Writing an honest review after two months. The product's well made and the BungeeShock cushioning worked really well at the start. After two months of daily use the bungee zone's got a bit softer – it stretches further before springing back. The effect's still there but a bit reduced. Neoprene grip still comfortable. Car clip still works perfectly. Reflective strips still good. Three stars for the change in the bungee section after two months.
