Will he finally relax in the car?

Picture it: he hops in, turns round once, sinks into the fur and rests his chin on the edge. By the end of your road he's asleep.

That's what SnugRide™ is made for. On a bare seat he slides on every corner, so he stands, pants and whines. In his own soft nest he has something to lean on and somewhere to hide, so he can let go.

✅ Feels held and secure, like in his basket at home
✅ Stays in his spot, safely clipped in
✅ Arrives rested instead of worked up

What size does my dog need?

S – miniature breeds: Chihuahua, Yorkie, Pomeranian, Maltese, Toy Poodle, Miniature Dachshund.

M – small breeds: Frenchie, Pug, Cavalier, Shih Tzu, Jack Russell, Westie, Dachshund.

L/XL – medium to large breeds, or two small dogs: Cocker Spaniel, Cockapoo, Beagle, Staffie, Border Collie, Labrador, Golden Retriever. Takes up two seats on the back row.

Likes to stretch out, or between sizes? Go up. Wrong size? We'll exchange it.

What if he doesn't love it?

Then you get your money back. You've got 60 days to try it on real journeys, muddy paws included.

Tip: let it live on the sofa for two or three days first so it smells like home. Most dogs claim it straight away, and then it's simply his bed, wherever you go.

Wrong size? We'll exchange it.

Is it worth the money?

Think about what you get back:

✅ Drives without whining, pacing or paws on your shoulder
✅ A dog who can come along to the beach, the woods and your mum's
✅ Seats that stay clean, with no hoovering after every walk
✅ The peace of mind that he's clipped in and comfortable

At three trips a week, that's around 40p a journey in the first year.

Why not just a blanket or a cheaper bed?

A blanket bunches up and he still slides. Most cheap fluffy beds are a thin cushion with floppy sides, and they aren't held in place. Brake hard and the lot goes forward.

SnugRide™ is a proper nest, and it stays put: cloud-soft fur he sinks into, a raised edge that holds him, and straps that fix the bed to the headrest. Clip the safety tether to his harness and he stays in his seat, even when you brake sharply – suitably restrained, just as Rule 57 of the Highway Code asks. So he feels as safe on the back seat as he does in his basket.

How long does delivery take?

We take 1–3 days to carefully prepare your order for you and your dog. From there, your parcel arrives within 4–9 working days, anywhere in the UK. We'll keep you updated by email along the way.

Restless dog on a bare car seat

He isn't a bad traveller. He just doesn't feel safe.

You know the look in the mirror. Wide eyes, panting, standing up at every corner.
✗ He slides on the seat and can't relax
✗ He whines, shakes or tries to climb onto your lap
✗ You drive tense, one eye on him and one on the road
✗ So more and more often, he stays at home

It isn't your dog. He just needs a place that feels like his.

A soft edge to rest his head on – ultra-soft imitation fur for deep, restful sleep, OEKO-TEX Standard 100

His own cosy, safe place. On every journey.

SnugRide™ turns the back seat into the spot he can't wait to jump into.

✅ He feels held – the raised, cushioned edge wraps around him like his basket at home
✅ He rests his head – the soft edge supports head and neck, so he dozes off
✅ He's safe beside you – clipped in with the free tether, he stays in his place
✅ He sinks in – deep, cloud-soft padding that's gentle on hips and joints

He sleeps. You enjoy the drive.

Triple-Layer Technology: CloudSoft Plush, CozyFlex Comfort Core, StayPut Grip Base

LIKE LYING ON A CLOUD

So soft he won't want to get out

Not all car beds are created equal. Most are a thin, fluffy cover that slides about and goes flat. SnugRide™ is made to feel like his favourite spot on the sofa:

Cloud-soft plush – long, velvety fur he nuzzles into. OEKO-TEX® certified and kind to skin and coat
Deep padding that stays plump – cushions hips, elbows and joints, even on long drives
A base that stays put – so his bed feels steady and your seats stay unmarked

MAKE HIS TRAVELS MORE RELAXED

Turns every journey into first-class travel

Happy dog, happy driver. He hops in, you clip him on, and by the end of your road he's curled up with his chin on the edge.

No whining from the back seat. No paws on your shoulder. No mud on the upholstery. Just a quiet drive to the beach, the woods or your mum's, with your best friend fast asleep beside you.

Removable, machine washable cover

COMFORT FOR HIM, FREEDOM FOR YOU

He travels in comfort. Your car stays spotless.

Warm and snug, whatever the weather
Thick, velvety fur keeps him cosy on frosty mornings and after wet walks.

Muddy paws? No problem
Say yes to every walk. Unzip the cover, wash at 30°C, and it's fresh again.

Seats that still look new
Hair, dirt and claws stay in his bed, not on your upholstery.

Dog clipped in with the safety tether

PEACE OF MIND

Safe beside you. Not loose on the seat.

No more jumping into the front or sliding off the seat when you brake. The free safety tether clips to his harness, so he stays safely in his place, and your eyes stay on the road.

Just as Rule 57 of the Highway Code asks: your dog “suitably restrained” while you drive.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Will my dog really calm down in the car?

That's exactly what it's made for. Most dogs are restless because they slide about and have nowhere that feels like theirs. In SnugRide™ he has a soft edge to lean on and snuggle into, so he feels held and can finally lie down. Many owners tell us their dog is asleep within minutes. And if yours isn't, you have 60 days to send it back.

Is my dog safe in it?

He's clipped in and stays in his place: no jumping into the front, no tumbling off the seat when you brake. The free tether attaches to his harness and the bed is strapped to the headrest. To be straight with you: it isn't a crash-tested restraint. For crash protection, pair it with a crash-tested harness.

Am I legal with it under the Highway Code?

Rule 57 says dogs should be suitably restrained so they can't distract you, and names a seat belt harness as one way to do it. Clip the included tether to his harness and he's restrained. Always a harness, never a collar.

Will it fit my car?

Yes. S and M sit on any standard car seat, front or back (we recommend the back). L/XL takes up two seats on the back row. The straps adjust to any headrest and it's in place in under a minute.

Which size is right for my dog?

S for miniature breeds like Chihuahuas and Yorkies, M for small breeds like Frenchies, Cavaliers and Dachshunds, L/XL for medium to large dogs like Cockapoos and Labradors, or two small dogs together. The size guide sits right above the size selector. Between sizes? Go up. And if it still isn't right, we'll exchange it.

He's always muddy. Can I wash it?

Yes, so you never have to say no to a walk. Unzip the cover and pop it in the machine on a gentle 30°C cycle. No fabric softener, let it dry, give the fur a quick brush and it's fluffy again.

Will the bed slide around when I brake?

No. It's strapped to the headrest and has a grippy underside, so it stays where you put it and he feels steady, even on roundabouts and country lanes.

What if my dog won't go in it?

Most dogs climb straight in. It's soft, it has an edge to hide behind, and that's what they look for. For cautious ones, leave it in the living room for two or three days so it smells like home, then move it to the car. And you've got 60 days to try it.

My dog gets car sick. Will this help?

A lot of queasiness and drooling comes from sliding about and not being able to steady himself. In a snug bed where he can lie down and lean, many dogs travel far more comfortably. It isn't a medical treatment, so if he's regularly sick, have a word with your vet as well.

Isn't it too warm in summer?

The plush is cosy rather than hot, and dogs choose it all year round, just like their bed at home. On warm days, cool the car first and lay a light cotton towel or cooling mat on top. And as always: never leave a dog in a parked car.

Why not just buy a cheaper one?

Because he'll notice the difference. Thin beds go flat within weeks and slide on the seat, so he's back to pacing. SnugRide™ keeps its deep padding, stays in place and comes with the tether, a washable cover and 60 days to try it. One bed that he loves and that lasts.

Can he use it at home or on holiday too?

Yes, and that's the nice part: his familiar bed comes with him. Sofa, holiday cottage, the in-laws' floor. Wherever it is, he knows that's his safe spot. Many owners get two: one for the house, one that lives in the car.

How do returns work?

Simple – send it back within 60 days and get your money back, no small print. Wrong size? Easy exchange, no questions asked.

Just email us at support@pawdys.co.uk to get started.

My dog chews everything. Will it last?

It's sturdy and well stitched, and made for daily use. No soft bed is chew-proof though, so if he's a determined chewer, give him a chew toy for the ride.

Cold car, warm dog – holds in his body heat, deep long-pile plush, raised walls keep draughts out

MADE FOR BRITISH WINTERS

The warmest seat in a cold car

Frosty mornings, wet walks and the long drive to family at Christmas: small, short-coated and older dogs feel every degree. In SnugRide™ he's lifted off the cold seat and wrapped in thick, warm fur, so he curls up and dozes instead of shivering.

Noticeably calmer

The straps annoyed me the first time I fitted it. Haven't touched them since, to be fair. We use it most days.

Chin down, eyes shut

I thought this would become another bulky dog purchase I regretted. Instead it lives permanently in the car. He uses it, the seat is cleaner and after a cold walk he's got somewhere comfortable to settle. I changed my mind fairly quickly. We've had it a few weeks now.

I'll admit I initially thought it was basically an expensive cushion. After a few weeks I get it. It stays where it should and gives him something solid to lean into. It now stays in the car permanently.

The dog decided

After rainy walks everything is still damp, obviously. At least most of the muck is ending up on a removable cover rather than across the whole seat.

His little nest

Much less faffing about on the back seat.

H

We were ridiculously overprepared for collecting our puppy. Towels, water, chews, spare everything. He whimpered for about five minutes, curled into the corner of the bed and slept for most of the drive home. Of all the things we packed, this ended up being the useful one. Particularly good at this time of year.

Good cold-weather setup

Last winter I got to the point where I dreaded taking the dog anywhere. Not because he was terrified, just because he never stopped moving. Stand up, slide on a bend, sit down, get up again. With this he's got an obvious place and something to lean against. He's still himself, but an hour of fussing has often become ten minutes followed by a nap.

Lovely after rainy walks

My parents are nearly two hours away and that journey used to be a whole event with our dog. He never seemed to know where to put himself. On the Christmas drive he settled against the side after we joined the motorway and slept nearly until the services. I actually checked the mirror because it was suspiciously quiet.

Lovely in autumn

My husband said we didn't need it. After the first longer drive he admitted, 'He was actually much quieter.' High praise in our house.

B

Typical January Saturday: woods, mud, drizzle, very happy dog, considerably less happy car. This has had several days like that now. He snuggles down on the way home and most of the mess ends up on the removable cover. Wash, dry, back on. Exactly what I need from dog gear. That's been our experience anyway.

Winter spot sorted

Our dog comes to the office every day. Through September he was fine, then the early starts got properly chilly and he began trying to sit on my coat. Since the bed went in, he jumps onto the back seat, performs his two ceremonial circles and lies down. I've reclaimed my coat. We've had it a few weeks now.

Switches off quicker

First thought: very cosy. Second thought after a filthy woodland walk: thank goodness the cover comes off. Both features have had a proper test now.

Dachshund cocoon

The raised edge is the bit our girl seems to love. She rests her chin on it or leans into it on bends. Before this she'd stand up every few minutes and rearrange herself.

Had to swap the first size, but the replacement is spot on. He curls up happily after our morning walk. Otherwise very happy.

Tight beside the child seat

Lovely for cold days. Dropped a star only because our dog sits awkwardly between two sizes. Otherwise very happy.

Nearly five stars

Our terrier loves leaning on the side. I'd like the bolster a little firmer for his weight. We use it most days.

Cosy on four wheels

Five minutes down the road and he was asleep. Unheard of.

Five minutes to sleep

Our whippet approves, which is saying something in November. Still going well after a month.

Our old boy is lying down in the car again. Would happily buy it again.

Better than the old blanket

Nice as a cosy bed, but our dog is exactly between sizes. We kept the larger one and it works, just isn't perfect. Three stars for our particular setup.

M
Malcolm Campbell

Our Jack Russell is usually still buzzing after training. Lately he's been asleep before we're halfway home. That's quite an achievement for him. It now stays in the car permanently.

C

Christmas without chaos

Our little rescue regards any new object as deeply suspicious. I put the bed beside her normal one for nearly a week before it ever went near the car. Eventually she started choosing it herself. Once it moved onto the back seat it smelled familiar, and the difference was obvious. On cold dark morning trips she now tucks herself into the corner rather than sitting bolt upright. Still going well after a month.
