I genuinely thought our beagle would ignore it because he normally chooses whichever cushion he's least supposed to be on. I put it in his usual corner and sprinkled a couple of treats on it. By the second evening the bribery wasn't needed. He now treats it as reserved seating. No regrets here.

I bought this for practical reasons and our dog seems to think I bought it as a luxury upgrade. Every evening after dinner he waits by the sofa, jumps up and goes straight into it. He uses the side like a pillow and looks absurdly pleased with himself. I'm mostly pleased that my good cushions are no longer covered in fur. Very happy with it.

New sofa arrived on the Friday. By Saturday morning our spaniel had already come in from the garden with damp paws and made himself comfortable on it. There was no chance we were going to start banning him after eight years, so I ordered this instead. He still sits beside us every evening, but now he heads for one obvious spot and most of the dirt stays there. Much better compromise.

Hair still exists, obviously. It's just much easier to deal with.

We're one of those households where the dog absolutely is family and absolutely is allowed on the furniture. The problem was never him being there; it was the hair everywhere afterwards. This hasn't magically stopped moulting, obviously, but it has concentrated his favourite sleeping area into something I can pick up and wash. That's all I really wanted. Still using it every evening.

My husband was firmly in the 'we already own blankets' camp. Two weeks later he was the one telling the dog to get into his bed before climbing on the sofa. The difference is mostly that it gives him a clear place rather than a moving piece of fabric. Also, it looks about a hundred times better. Very happy with it.
